You are invited to join the Catholic Lawyers of West Michigan for the annual Red Mass on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 6:00 pm at St. Andrew’s Cathedral with dinner to follow at the Cathedral Square Center at 360 Division Ave, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
Our distinguished guest and speaker will be Sister Veronica Schueler, FSE, a senior staff attorney with Catholic Charities of Houston and one of the Co-Directors of the St. Frances Cabrini Center for Immigrant Legal Assistance.. Sister Veronica will give a talk entitled, “Immigration in America: A Journey of Hope.” She will speak about the vocation of the Catholic lawyer to serve the immigrant and will share stories of her work in Houston. This is a timely topic given Pope Francis’ recent visit to the United States and his reminders to us to go bring the Gospel to those on the peripheries. Please RSVP today for the dinner. The early registration deadline is Friday, October 2. The early registration fee is $50 per person and after October 2, the cost will be $55 per person. Please invite guests, friends, and others in the community whether Catholic or non-Catholic to this talk. Dinner will be an entrée of Mediterranean Chicken. Please let us know if you have any special food needs.
